Polymethyl methacrylate is also known as Plexiglas (registered trade mark), but can also be referred to as acrylic. It is resistant and translucent. In some industries it is often used as an alternative to glass.
Tempered glass can be up to five times more resistante than ordinary glass. This resistance is the consequence of a thermal treatment. When it breaks, tempered glass has the particularity of breaking in tiny pieces to avoid wounds.
