Leather is created through the tanning of hides and skins of animals such as cows, buffaloes or pigs. Skins go through several processes to transform them into leather. First, the skin is prepared and goes through a series of operation like soaking, liming and fleshing, then it is tanned and finally crusted. Each leather is unique as it bears marks that are specific to each animal (eg. scars). In the furniture area, the minimum recommended thickness is 1.1mm. All leather items sold on our website have a thickness that varies between 1.2 and 1.4mm.
